Day to Day
Delhi – Sariska
Upon arrival at New Delhi International Airport you will be met by the in-country representative and you will transferred to Sariska - a town and wildlife region in the Alwar district in Rajasthan. Upon arrival at the resort you will have time to settle in before heading off to experience life at a plantation and an evening enjoying cultural activities.
Sariska National Park
You will have an early start to the day as you head off to experience a safari in the Sariska National Park. The Sariska National Park is home to a number of wild and endangered animals, including leopards, wild dogs, jungle cats, hyenas and tigers. Upon your return to the resort you will have lunch and the chance to enjoy some free time. After lunch you can participate in cycling and hiking activities.
Sariska – Jaipur
Before boarding the bus to Jaipur, the morning will kick start with an hour-long Yoga session. You will then travel to the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur popularly known as the “Pink City” due to the pink sandstone used to construct the buildings in old walled city. Jaipur owes its name to the Great warrior astronomer Maharaja Jai Singh II (1699–1744 AD). Once you are settled in your hotel, there will be a cooking demonstration, followed by dinner.
After breakfast you will travel just outside of Jaipur to the ancient capital of Amber to see the amazing Amber Fort. Constructed in the 17th century by Maharaja Mansingh, Mughal Emperor, Amber was once the seat of power for many years. On route to Amber you will stop and see the Palace of Winds, otherwise known as Hawa Mahal. This is an elaborate facade behind which the ladies of the court used to watch the daily goings on in the street below. Following lunch in Jaipur, you will then pay visit to the City Palace. Since, Jai Singh built it in 1728, it has been the principal residence for the Maharajas of Jaipur and the successive rulers have each added to it. In the afternoon / early evening you will be free to visit local markets.
Jaipur – Agra
This morning you will make the 6-hour journey to Agra, to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Taj Mahal. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as an expression of his love for his wife Mumtaz Mahalin the mid-17th century, it took 22 years and 20,000 men to build. The white marble was quarried 200 miles away and was transported to the site by a fleet of 1000 elephants, truly making it one of the wonders of the world.
Established in 2010 in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh forest Department the Elephant Rescue Centre is a wonderful sanctuary for severely abused and captive elephants. Today while visiting you will have the opportunity to hear the elephant’s stories, walk with the elephants and watch first-hand the vets treating the elephants. After lunch you will the visit the Bear Rescue Centre, where you will have a private tour of the facilities and learn more about the rescued bears. In the evening you will have watch a demonstration of inlay work on marble.
Agra – Delhi
Heading to Delhi for your last full day in India, you will experience some of the best sites the city has to offer. A tour around New Delhi will include a visit to the Lotus Temple, the Bahá'í House of Worship, India Gate, the Parliament building and the Rashtrapati Bhawan – the President’s residence. You will then have the evening the enjoy at your leisure.
Once breakfast is finished you will head to the airport for your journey home.
