Day to Day
Upon arrival in Delhi you will transfer to Camp Wild in time for breakfast and a welcome talk from your trip leader. With free time until lunch, you will have the chance to unpack and rest. Following lunch, you will walk to the nearby village of Sekakhair, and help with a village clean up as well as experiencing village life by participating in daily chores, such as making fuel cakes from cow dung. In the evening you will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful sunset after a short hike.
Animal Shelter / Cycling to Ancient Waterfall Temple / Rural Sports
An action-packed day lies ahead of you. Starting with a beautiful bike ride to an animal shelter, taking you through the surrounding villages of Delhi. While passing through local villages you will get to see village life first hand. The bike ride will also pass by some ancient temples and spectacular landscapes. Upon arrival at the animal shelter you will have a guided tour and a chance to interact with many of the animals. After lunch you will visit the Low Rope Course, where you will have an opportunity to explore everything the course has to offer, including the Tarzan Swing, Tunnel crawl, Tire Squeeze, Parallel Bridge and the Monkey Crawl. You will return to camp for dinner, once rested and nice and full you will head out for a short hike and first aid/wilderness response lesson, to prepare for tomorrow’s trek.
Drive to Shekhawati Region (Mandawa)
Today will start with a hearty breakfast, before travelling by bus to the Shekhawati Region (Mandawa) of Rajasthan. An area famous for its beautiful castles and stunning havelis, Mandawa was founded by Thakur Nawal Singh in 1755. Once you are settled in your hotel, you will head off on a village tour by camel cart, enabling you to marvel at the painted Havelis, belonging to rich merchants including the Chowkhani Haveli, Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli and the Mohahanlal Saraf Haveli. In the evening after dinner you will be able to sit back and relax while enjoying a local folk dance.
Mandawa To Jaipur / Visit City Palace
This morning you will head off on a 4-hour bus journey to Jaipur. Known as the Pink City, Jaipur is home to ancient forts, palaces and one of India’s most well-planned cities. Upon arrival you will stop for lunch before heading off to visit Maharajah’s City Palace. Now partly a museum the palace displays a unique fusion of Mughal and Hindu Architecture, and houses a rare collection of paintings, Rajput armoury and costumes.
Visit Amber Fort/ Hand Block Printing Museum
This morning you will visit the dramatic hilltop fortress at Amber; a fine amalgamation of Hindu and Muslim architecture built in the 16th century. You will then travel to the Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing (AMHP). Located in a magnificently restored haveli, the museum displays a varied selection of block printed textiles alongside images, tools and related objects – all chosen to provide an in-depth look into the complexity of this ancient tradition. After lunch you will immerse yourself in a unique shopping experience while visiting Jaipur. Founded by Sawai Jai Singh, a patron of the arts and crafts he freely invited craftsmen and artists to the city to sell their wares. After a full afternoon shopping, you will experience a traditional Rajasthani dinner at Chokhi Dhani.
Visit New Delhi / Depart
After a leisurely breakfast you will head to Delhi airport for your homeward bound flight.
